World Architecture News House of  Year competition brings out strongest design talents

Last year, Marbach made its architectural ascent in status when the city’s Museum of Modern Literature, designed by David Chipperfield to reconnect Germany’s literature once separated by the East/West divide, won the Sterling Prize – a most coveted architecture award. This year, perched on 6900 m2 of land atop a hill facing the museum, a private house responds with originality and thoughtful design, elevating the bar in the region. 

Submitted for WAN’s House of the Year 2008, Dupli Casa displays sophisticated shape manipulation to transform a simplistic design into a complex yet comprehensible super-home.

“The geometry of the building is based on the footprint of the house that previously was located on the site,” say Dupli Casa’s designers J. Mayer H. Architects. “Originally built in 1984 and with many extensions and modifications since then, the new building echoes the ‘family archaeology’ by duplication and rotation. Lifted up, it creates a semi-public space on ground level between two layers of discretion.”

The design therefore reflects a family vernacular – the different levels of a family presenting as twisted versions of the next, performing different functions but communicating as a whole.

The Golden Leaf

Since it’s the first home you see as you enter the community, we wanted it to make a strong statement.

Before accepting restoration, the appearance of this building was very bad, and by not having many we could safely maintained solution… we change a lot of the appearance construction.

Still using wash coloring technique with light brown color we give some art color touch for this front view appearance. Bali stone carve with an abstract style is using a lot in interior appearance.

Imagine the great experience we will get, with amazing site that’s come at  fabulous  width area. Using the great size area , this fantastic houses will be going to be the ultimate house in here. Spending a lot space in front of the land, this house come with fantastic view over all.

In the same location with Jati I, we change the appearance front view of this building with some renovation to create the difference with the surrounding environment .

By making the difference appearance of this view, made him to be prominent around it.

Still continue to using of the brown minimalist color, made the appearance of this building become more elegant , and also this color was favorite color when this building under  renovation.

The Canarygn

With the touch of minimalist style, we changed the appearance facade in front of the building until making him prominent compared with the surrounding building.

By having the superiority of the building land that was in the corner, it’s make this appearance in front of the building became very unique.

We only use a little opening window, all make from massif material and combine with frame less glass wall .

Azalea NEW Marketing Office

This upper picture is taken while the site is under renovation. ( 2008 – Oct – 09 ) We are going to change this image after the renovation is fully complete.

Located in fast growing housing complex CEMARA ASRI, this design in the allocation as the marketing office from the local developer.
